Soothing a Sunburn

by BeautyVice on September 4, 2008

If you spent a little too much time in the sun without enough protection, you’re probably suffering from an irritating sunburn.  Here are a few tips to sooth those sunburn woes.

  • Take an Aspirin or Advil - the anti-inflammatory benefits will help alleviate some of the pain
  • Drink Plenty of Water - you’ll definitely be dehydrated after sun exposure, so drink up
  • Aloe Vera - just squeeze out the gel from the leaves and apply it on your skin; it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits
  • Epsom Salt Soak - dissolve 1 cup of Epsom Salt into boiling water, let it cool to desired temperature and soak in the mixture for 15-20 minutes
  • Baking Soda Soak - dissolve 1-2 cups of baking soda into a tub of warm water and soak for 10-30 minutes
  • Topical After Sun Care - use a product specifically formulated for after sun care; try Natura Bisse Sun Defense Sun Repair Lotion
